Day 8 of Jane's Reign: LadyJanie Bloopers, where we mess up a lot...

Hey there!

Today's post is short and sweet. We made a video of all the times we messed up during our research trip to England. If you were at one of our tour stops, you might have seen the video. If not... here we are making dorks of ourselves. Enjoy!

Contest: To win an awesome swag pack, tell us in the comments what you would do if you were Queen of England!

  1. Thank you for the video :). It definitely made me smile.

As for being Queen of England - my first rule would be to make people carry, at least, one book everywhere. And they also should read it (there would be tests). Then, I would create places where people could be whoever they want without being afraid of being ridiculed. And finally, I would personally hit all my ministers' heads and make them create real plans to help all.

And I think, that after it, I would be beheaded after a week :).

  2. I'd resign. Who wants that much responsibility??

  3. If I were Queen of England I would use all the money I make to enlarge the Royal Library to twice the size it is now and buy as many rare books as I can find. Then make parliament sign over half their wages to support the people who really need the money, and make midday naps mandatory for all people.

I'm sure after that I would be dethroned :D

  4. I would force to everyone use the SI system. The penalty for using imperial units is beheading because unit conversions = death to us engineers

  6. So many possibilities....though not sure if I'd be up to it. That is a lot of pressure.
Hmm, the more I think about it, I really would have no idea where to even begin. I mean the things I'd like to do, is it in reality even feasible?
All will be equal, no matter what, that first on my agenda! Then I'd do all I can to make sure everyone gets an education. I'd definitely have my friends help me.

  7. That video made me smile and giggle inside. Thank you for that :D

If I was Queen of England I would customize my huge library with every book that I've ever loved and every book that I've ever wanted to read. I can't imagine the guilt I would feel about never being able to read every book. Maybe it's a good thing I'm not Queen.

  8. I would abolish homework and replace it with a mandatory two hours daily of reading whatever you want.

  9. I think I would spend most of my day trying on all of the stunning, unbelievably beautiful and valuable jewellery. The rest of the day parading it around & showing it off.

  11. Ah, all three of you are so adorable! If I was the queen of England, I would buy the prettiest dresses (because I love dresses and materialistic items), a new toaster (I want the kind of toaster where you can heat up four slices of bread at the same time) and fill up my bookshelf with all the books on my wishlist (my paycheck isn't coming in until next month).

  12. Like Jane, I believe we would do a whole lot less fighting if everyone just read. Therefore, I would declare reading party national holidays if I were queen. All of the country would don their cozies pjs, grab a book and favorite hot beverages, and gather with their friends to read in mutual peace and happiness. Haha. But in actuality, I probably would not handle the responsibility of being Queen very well. I would probably deck myself in the Queen's regalia and crown jewels (Moriarty-style like in BBC's Sherlock) and just chill on the throne feeling regal for a day or two. I would probably also be randomly saying, "Long live me" under my breath and giggling hysterically. After that, I would say, "You know what? I am good. Someone else can be queen for a while now."

  13. If I was Queen of England I would...
Well, I would probably carry out all of the Queenly duties that I had to to keep the country running, then I would decree that My Lady Jane be taught in all schools to ensure everyone knows the true history of England!
Then I would provide more funding to E∂ians' support groups that provided for E∂ians who were hurt/robbed/in need of aid. Naturally, I would then take a vacation around the countryside, greeting my subjects and eating yummy food!

  14. Work my butt off to implement new initiatives to boost literacy, public health and economic wealth using the royal prerogative. Then use my influence to clear a few famous sites (like the Lourve) for a day to tour them with a group of friends. After that, I'd probably resign to avoid all that pressure.

  15. Free pizza to the whole country!
